And apparently last week’s excitement on the street was enough. I’ve had lots of things I’ve wanted to say, but the stress of that situation, coupled with the intense heat, gah…it’s like something out of a southern gothic novel set in the summertime when everything is all sweltering and people get murderous. I’ve been checking police reports and crime has gone up exponentially on our street in the past few weeks. I blame the heat. Why not? High temps make people crazy and desperate.
Here is a list of things that are less crazy and desperate. I think. You be the judge.
- Today, I bought a pair of athletic shorts. These are the first athletic shorts I’ve purchased this millennium.
- I have the most fabulous tan from our trip to the Bahamas.
- Found out over the weekend that I am (at least) 1/32 Choctaw on my mom’s mom’s side. I did not see that one coming. And this relative is on the Dawes Rolls. That is awesome.
- Dear Netflix – You took away my Doc Martin (TV show). You would be dead to me if I didn’t have so much TV to watch this summer. Sincerely, Me
- I changed my mind about Laura Palmer. And Audrey Horne.
- Special Agent Dale Cooper is one of the best characters that has ever been on TV.
